Pat Horan is a lucky man. He is the owner of a replica WRC Audi Quattro rally car, built for Audi in France . It was watching Michelle Mouton on the circuit of Ireland that inspired him to, one day, own one himself.

Over the years, from the very first GTI Festival events in the late 1980s, the shows have attracted hordes of Volkswagen enthusiasts to several different venues around the UK. The GTI Festival and GTI International were for a decade or more, just about the only specialist water cooled VW events of the year. Now, we have a busy show calendar. The GTI Festival has moved its date to the end of that busy calendar, to establish a Final Fling season finale, before the time comes to put cars away for the close season, or pull them apart for mods or winter rebuilds.

The GTI Festival – Season Finale is for enthusiasts of all VAG marques, SEAT, Skoda, Audi and of course Volkswagen. Now the Volkswagen Group includes Lamborghini, Bentley and Bugatti too, but the closest we will probably come to seeing any of those will be Bentley rims shoehorned under late Golf arches!

Club GTI will be there. Therefore, this is a call to you to spruce up your VAG transportation devices. Please advise me of your attendance so that I can advise VW Action for the club's plot size in the club section. There has been a recent revamp of the show layout, the clubs area is now easily able to accommodate the 40+ clubs. Club GTI hasn't attended in a while but we are going to change this. We need to act quickly as VW Action expect to see a huge number of clubs and registers represented, so let Volkswagenism know ASAP.

    Volkswagen Group Motorsport

Evidently, the modern era of the most famous race in the world—the 24 Hours of Le Mans—has belonged to the Germans, by this I mean Porsche and Audi. This has come to a slow stop with most of the brake being applied now with Porsche announcing its departure at the end of 2017. Sad, very sad if you like me love cars from the Wolfsburg based giant that finances and partly engineers the iconic brands from Stuttgart and Ingolstadt. Well, if you’re looking at a finger to point it lies in the direction of certain ...

It has been 27 years since Club GTI has been attending the Curborough sprint course. The event this May 2016 was a 'wawser' for participation and an eye opener for some of us enthusiasts!
Everyone well disciplined, enjoying themselves to maximum without incident. Such a relaxed atmosphere and social event with machinery that was just epic fast.

We had quite a lot going on at this event, from regular favourite vw_singh in his DIY developed MK1 16vT, sneezing its way to fastest place ...
