well lads my question is how hard is it to successfully supercharge an abf engine?? i have been reading some links but the cars dont seem to have actually ran.. what are the costs?? what would you need to make it somehow reliable and worthwhile?
main issue is mounting the superecharger, to lower the compression you can just stack 2 metal gaskets. then you also have to find an inlet manifold to suit, as well as boost pipes to hook it all together! have a read of sc0rians build thread on ed38.
true enough, was a couple of boost pipes away from having it boosted though. he was driving it around with 2 stacked gaskets and all the modded inlet etc on megasquirt, was slow though thaks to the lowered compression
what sort of power would i get from doing this to my engine(2l abf) and would it work out cheaper than trying to push the same power out of the engine without charging it??
ok so can someone give me list of stuff i need but i am on a budget so what would i need??a merc charger maybe, aftermarket ecu,2 steel gaskets, etc etc can somebody please outline exactly what i need.... cheers
Then goes on to list; If you on "a budget" then do yourself a favour and keep your car std. Speed costs money, hard graft and time.
Seems like you're not been looking in the right places. http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=173398&hl=n7ndo Those 3 cars run and run well! with a lot more cars coming
