I want to but a big turbo in my 1300 polo. It has a peco back box and the air filter went in the bin to maximise air flow.

I am gonna cane everyone with a vr6 as they are crap.

Can anyone offer any advise to start me off;)

    what is going on here.

To go with the thread here is my advice.

Get a hair dryer and link it into to the air flow and get it to blow cold air. This is good for at least 10 PSI

Fancy bumping into you on this thread :p Am I being a tart only using
the baby turbo supplied with my kit? I kind of persuaded myself that 150/
    160 bhp is plenty... [:$]

Lol! Does the turbo protrude further forward than the G would?

Marginally less - it can be incorporated behind an early grille and front
panel, but you still really need to cut the slam panel for access etc.

Will that be enough to beat Mathers though?! :pMaybe I'm a numpty, but 160bhp isn't enough for me - well, realistically it is until I can get a slipper installed to make up for my lack of launching ability.

150/160 bhp in a stripped out mk1 with salzmann goodies keeping the
front end in line will be roughly on a par with Mathers motor... but I'm
really keen to build a proper polo based FWD drag car once my mk1 is on
the road... there are lessons in lightness, grip and power that Marsh and I
both know fully, but have yet to exploit. Most good G's are making 200
-220 bhp/ton, but almost twice that is perfectly possible [}:)]

Wish I could afford a Salzmann wishbone subframe thingy... [:^(]Ah well, encouragement to stop being a student and starting earning money I guess!

Having to make do with some nylon ARB bushes from G-laderseite.de and Powerflex bushes in the TCAs. Not that it matters, as I think I'm going to tear it all out and stick the G40 in my Mk2 - it feels a lot stiffer.

Well Runar is running 150-160 PS @ 0,6-0,7 bar boost and smoke out the back due to faulty headgasket

But his downpipe is bigger than his turbo anyway ;)

I guess Runar is knocking on 200 PS @ 1 bar boost from the K04-15. Good intercooling+63,5mm downpipe is a key to the figures. He has even taken out the Schrick cam and put in the stock one now.
