    hey guys
been loitering around the site for a while but obviously this is my first post

ive got a gt tdi 150 golf showing 17961 fault code, the car is totally flat to 2200 rpm then its off like dirty stuff of a shovel,it also for the first time today went into limp on the motorway and wouldnt go over 75 mph
so has anyone got any ideas what that sounds like or should i just assume the vnt is sticking on the turbo??[8(]

    thanks in advance!

    Allan

What does it say with that code?

Could be an air leak of some sort, faulty EGR or BCV or dead MAF

My advice would be to get it to VW or a specialist who can diagnose it.

    hi supercharged
thanks for the quick response it says manifold absolute pressure(MAP) sensor/barometric pressure (BARO) sensor - range/performance problem

its not a MAF fault as ive tried a new one(gen bosch item)

i had a 130pd that went odd due to a boost leak.

to find it, run your hands along the boost pipes and whever there is a leak there will be black oil lol

U/S MAPs are a known fault - start there, then check for leaks.

would no boost to 2200 be consistant with a faulty map?

A faulty sensor can give a too high or low reading, or even none at all.
