Didn't realise you'd had the mk1 THAT long.

I went to GTI festival at Avon park in 1995 in my first Golf , wish I'd still got that.

Oh yes 15 Long Years Nearly ( Had to sign it over to Mick Clements for six months due to Divorce reasons ) so it should have 6 previous owners but has 8 due to that.

Yeah GTI Fest 1995 went down with a few of the Lads i think Phatty was with us and a few more from York, Gav Walsh's White MK1 next to mine from York (now lives is OZ).

MiMs look good on small bumper mk2s and mk1s but don't suit big bumper cars as much imo.

    Yep it was Mick's old 1.8L 16v pushed 154bhp 129 lb/lb as standard with K&N Filter and 4-1 Manifold.

Changed to ABF Bottom end and Gas Flowed Head in 1998 though much better engine.

can't remeber if they were MIM 2800 or 1800 which were the one's which had the deeper dish with the spokes that curved inwards ? were they the 2800 ? the laquered finish on the MIM's used to peel off after 12 months tho.
