Chris's aka Benny off here. Dogwood's old one. Pics'll be great. IIRC the grass was long in '96 too - they mustn't have been cutting it.
Bloody hell!! You've owned it longer than i've been driving, have you ever done any body resto on it or has it never needed it? In the mag years ago did they write 'Its like being pulled along the road in an old tin bath' or am I thinking of another mk1?
^Superb! Recently repainted a set of forged lightweight (6.27kg each) 16x7" rims for the Merc, and they're really rather similar to ATS Cups in that the construction actually mimics a dished Steel wheel but is in fact alloy... They're my 'winters', and were originally a nasty corroded polished/diamond-cut finish all over. Nitro-Mors took care o' that though.
i had a full re-spray in 1997 with two Brand new doors & Wings Originals too from VW and a new front Panel. after Hajid Chana's White MK2 G60 (PVW Aug 97) hit me on Leeds Ring Road his car was a complete right off and the week after it was featured in PVW!! and a new Bonnet in 2006 after the old one flew up while i was at Elvington doing 101mph better an Impreza on my way to a 13 sec 1/3 mile. Yes i think they wrong somthing like it rattles you teeth out !! That was when i had the AVO Coilovers fitted with 350lb front springs and 300 lb rear springs.
Just finished building another 2.0L 16V Engine which i have sold to PyschoNick from MK1 Owners forum for his White MK1 Project, to fund my 2.1L 16V Project. Heres the 2.0L ABF. I'll post pix on the 2.1L 16V Engine Build. 2.0L 16V ABF Bottom End KR 027 16V Gasflowed & Ported Head ABF Cams fitted. 50mm Inlet Manifold should be good for 175BHP.

Neat setup!! I'm curious as to why you're not using the standard 60-2 crank trigger, though? I'm assuming your ECU has only one default decoding for a 36-1 wheel (I know nothing about Microsquirt) which is unchangeable... Interesting cam choice, will be nice to see how it goes
Been advised by a few on her not to fit the ABF 60 - 2 Toothed wheel to the Eurospec crank, as they have been known to fail. So using an external trigger wheel.
Loving that car Brookster seriously, well done, absolutely superb, giving me lots of inspiration for my car and my own future 2.1 build. keep up the good work!
