Do curved trumpets work? Bloody expensive.

s14-rennsport-teile_07.jpg Aslong it has a nice radius there wont be much inbetween straight or radius .... in some cases it can even be a plus, same apply to manifolds, btw lots of high end engines have radiused trumpets

But is that so they fit under the bonnet Hugo? The bmw above is obviously on the slant as are many engines nowadays

Yes, install limitations to fit under the bonnet.... but at the same time the injector spray central into the runner for good atomisation

In fluid dynamics (hydrodynamics), of which aerodynamics is sub category, any disruption from 'straight' laminar flow will cause turbulence!
(Fluid dynamics was part of my Mech Eng degree course)

Turbulence in a combustion chamber is not necessarily a bad thing of course.

One could look at this by making two models, one straight and one curved, in clear plastic.
Suck smoke through with a vacuum cleaner and see what happens!

Indeed, turbulence in a combustion chamber is not necessarily a bad thing, air and fuel need to mix well before it enters the combustion chamber ( port injected) while combustion is a very complex proces....much theory, but in the end it need tried in the real world praxis on a dyno....

    Don't hold your breath!

But next year Lainey says I can build a 'big' three car garage.
First job is to sort the stripped out 90 20V Q.

If you did not know it, this car was the first AUDI with high pressure sequential injection.
Hitachi made it because Bosch were scared!

    So my thinking is:
To get the maximum out of this N/A super motor it will need two injectors and two ECUs.

    Models may well be needed!?

You can do sequential injection on one ecu but Im guessing your using the original ecu so two ecus and Two sets of injectors

I curved the intake runners on the ones I made up and deleted the Toyota fuel rail, using a 1.8T part to inject behind the valve.

This application in HPRs post brings the ITB closer to the valve with some sort of flange adpator and uses the OE Denso injectors and maintains length without hitting the bonnet with a curved trumpet.

    Different approaches I suppose.
