Following on from the talk in the 80's rally cars thread, and the mention that i had some 7x15 Ronals and that they may or may not have been used, i KNEW i'd seen pictures of the cars running 7x15s....

And here is proof, direct from the website we know and love ;-)

    Now the question is:

Are these thin spoke wheels, where the spokes are set well into the flange?

    or

Are they heavier spoke wheels, where the spokes are not set as deep into the flange?

Hi Dave. ....... All the best, Jer (1/3)

If it ain't broke I will re-design, manufacture parts, uprate, then perform preventative maintenance, so it never breaks!

When it's really broke I will make it better. Much, much, much better

I recon the wheels in the above pic are the same as these

And from that, they are the same as the ones shown in the R8 thread, and the same as mine below:

They have the same number of spokes and the same edge detail.

    Size:

    Part no:

And the date of manufacture on the back of them is 1987!

Just going back over the thread again, top pic, taken by me in 86ish!

That has the early Audi 4x100 wheels, 6x14 et42 (I think! had a set years ago and sold them)

Second pic they are 6x15, as used by BRMotorsport on some of their mk1 demo cars.

Again et around 42, as they never filled the arches on the mk1s or mk2s

    Same as these:

Lee. That's a grand find so!
The ET 35, is the same as thegave's wheels below.

Are you going to keep the paint original, and just touch up the light damage to protect the alloy? I would.

Borrowed this list from Classis Audi Forum below:

    5.5x13et38/4x100
    6x14et45/4x100
    6x14et35/4x100 (dished)
    6x15et35/4x100
    6x15et42/4x100
    7x15et25/4x100 (dished)
    7x15et28/4x100 (deep dished)
    7x15et35/4x100(dished)
    7x15et37/4x100(dished)
    7x15et42/4x100 (dished)

    to which can be added:

    6x15et33/4x100 (Billb)

That is a pukka image, not photoshoped.

The last VWMS 8v Rally car, now with KWL, is on BBS, which is just how it was in the VW museum!

The last VWMS car is on fake splits Daved, someone needs to sort it!

You can still actually get those BBS alloys, but they are more than £2k a set!

Oh, and there are some proper 7x15 R8s in germany for sale at the moment, but the dreamer is wanting €900 for them!

    What do you mean?

If I had been sneeky, I would have bought those proper, 6 x 15, R8s from under your nose! Don't forget that I had the phone number of the guy who sold them to you. And. Even I could have outbid what you paid for them!

I have been looking for 6 x 15 R8s for 20 years, on and off, that's about 19 years longer than you even knew they existed. And. Who the flipping heck told you about the beauty of R8s in the first place?
