    If they are 7 x 15 and €799, I've seen those.

    There is one 7 x 15 - 4 x 100 at €99.
Hi Dave. ....... All the best, Jer (1/3)

If it ain't broke I will re-design, manufacture parts, uprate, then perform preventative maintenance, so it never breaks!

I'm on two sets now. Got another one possibly sorted for some offset/handling comparisons.

Have I got my head on straight or what?
I always thought that the ET was the offset from centre of rim to mounting face of hub?
As such I would have thought that the smaller the ET then the deeper the hub would have been inset from the outside face of the wheel?

These photos seem to show the converse of that!
IE: The larger ET has the deeper rim edge!

Having said that, the spokes on the larger ET wheels are very curved in. So did Ronal make them with a deeper rim exposure to tart them up? The deep ones look much weaker where the spokes join the rim! Having said that, if the spokes on the ones with deep rim edges are closer to the centre of the rim, then they can be thiner as there is less bending moment in them. The wheels should also be lighter?

    7x15 ET37 4X100 #25734

    7x15 ET28 4X100 #25724.031

    7x15 ET25 4X100 #5724.031

I prefer this design, where the spokes are right out to the edge of the rim. From what I have said above though, it may not be such a good design from a strength or weight point of view!

    6x15 ET35 4X100 #5624.035

This set sold on ebay for £170!

    Now.

I am building a set up as VWMS did by using Audi 80 hubs. With this set up the hub/wheel mounting face is 5mm further out.

So. If I keep all the other front suspension parameters standard I recon I need 6x14s with an ET of 5mm more than standard. IE: 43mm instead of 38mm.

What ET do I need if I go to 6x15s?

What ET do I need if I go to 7x15s?

Perhaps we should gather part numbers for all these wheels so they can be checked against the ET?

I'm very interested in the Audi brake/hub mod. ATM I have what i think is G60 fronts and stock Mk2 rears on which works OK but it's a bit of an originality fail. Any way I can check/confirm this?

I'd be interested to compare against the original setup VWMS offered.

The round faced Ronals I think were prevalent on the forest rally car specs?

    I do prefer those!

I used to be a member of the R8 club when I had my Mk2 rallycar.
    I had 8 of R8s from an Audi, they were 4 x 100, 6 x 14, can't recall ET though.

Pretty sure the rally folk prefer the outer rim dish to be supported as much as possible by the spokes so there is less chance of wheel damage if a kerb or rock is clipped during a stage.

The R8 with the deeper edge is called R8T and has the part number 25724.xxx
The R8 with the lower edge has the part number 5724.xxx
This is valid for the 7x15" version only.
The report shows the various versions for the R8 5724.xxx

Dave has already asked about my 7x15s, so i'll no doubt get an email from him.

I wonder if mine have some genuine WOB history, having been to KWL recently...........

    Don't remember enquiring about any 7 x 15s?

But. If I did. It was only so's I could swap with Lee for his proper 6x15s!

    Anyways up.

Photos without part numbers, ETs, etc, are unacceptable in this thread, as of now!

PS. Are they magnesium alloy? I hope that they are!!!!!!
