Cool Post 172. Day 3 part 3. Club GTI Wolfsburg trip March 2015

I know some of you have made this trip individually and had a great time sharing your experience on social sites. So how about we make the trip as a club

Well Club GTI and the events team is now taking taking bookings so we can make this happen.

I'd be on that. Dont mind when, aslong as there is plenty of notice. Being next year, i'm sure there would be.

Its a brilliant place to visit and the museum is also quite fascinating. Wolfsburg itself is a really clean and friendly place to go.

We stopped at Kampingplatz Allersee which is an easy walk away from the town centre, also make sure you visit Club Tao (and the cocktail bar beneath it). Fantastic night had

I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't done it, alas i'm already committed to a charity run to Zurich next year but i'd reiterate to anyone on the maybe list to get on and get over there. Recommended that you travel two per car, i'd not be able to take that drive alone in one hit.

Hmm, what's the nearest track (excluding the ring) to the museum? Would drive up for a track day and the museum...

Actually, how feasible is a trip to Spa along with the museum?

Spa will take you quite some distance out of the way, same for Hockenheim and Nurburgring. We had looked at the possibility of getting onto the 'ring but its a huge distance, about three hundred miles if memory serves.

Count me in i have never been , but be cool to go in a convoy of some description , any time really as long as there is a few week notice

I have been tempted to go to Wolfsburg from the ring in the past but was really to much driving for short breaks , may be better with 2 drivers in one car

Definitely interested. We could either do Oschersleben while there, or maybe a track on the way back like Zandvoort.

Also check out Smiley's pizza in the bar area on the south side of the city and buy currywurst from the Autostadt. Phenomenally good.

    Et voila!

Having Flickr/my laptop both cr*p out in the process leading to three complete re-writes, I had no energy for Part 2 tonight...

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, work dates are very difficult for me to sort out
I would like to see some of those sights, I want to ride in a convertible mk5 R32 around the factory floor, unless they have something better in the tours
