I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, work dates are very difficult for me to sort out
I would like to see some of those sights, I want to ride in a convertible mk5 R32 around the factory floor, unless they have something better in the tours

I'm not likely to be able to afford to go, sadly, but having been in the past, I'd highly recommend it. So much to do and see, you need at least a long weekend and a few days extra wouldn't come amiss.

It was 2005 when we went, so I expect things have changed a lot since then, but it was amazing to see that about 90% of the cars in the town are VWs, naturally - and when we were there, a very large percentage of them were Mk2 Golfs.

This was a wall painting I spotted - how cool is this? :)

In case you are wondering, work is going on in the background, to incorporate a trackday with this trip.

We are working with a EU trackday operator to determine the track, distance, price and nearby accommodation and once known we can stick that on the calender for 2015.

We are hoping to visit mainland Europe as a Club at least twice in 2015.

We will keep you informed with developments on this.

    Cheers

    Ed.

If I start saving now I might have enough fuel money for my thirsty car!

Bank holidays are more busy and the cost of travel is higher mid week would be a cheaper option

So far the trip is being planned and the target is the Autostadt/Wolfsburg and a trackday on the way back.

Which trackday and TDO is to be decided.

Duration of trip and time of year? Weekend including Monday (April - May 2015)

    How many people? Maybe 20

There is a plan to run maybe two of these trips i.e place of interest and a trackday, next year.

Stay tuned as I will update where we are on progress on this.

When I was there the guide (obviously...) only spoke German. If there was a big enough uk crowd going they may lay on a separate guide in English. This would have massively improved the museum 'experience'

Following up on Post 1 we are looking to gather further interest for a Club trip to Wolfsburg and the Autostadt.
This trip can be set for the last week in February or first week in March.

We are planning the trip tour to commence at Kassel Germany. The Kassel VW plant assembles gearboxes, do sub-assemblies, exhausts, and its the main parts distribution centre.
Next morning we do a factory tour and after that we travel another 180 km towards Wolfsburg.... we hope to have enough time to do another visit, either VW-Classsic OR the Volkswagen museum.
Next day we will visit Autostadt and at 12.20 PM there is a guided factory tour in english ( 60-90 minutes)
We are hoping to conclude this trip so that by Sunday that week all are back in the UK

Eddie and myself will go there after Christmas to find out about travel times, places to stay, were to go for a meal, get an idea for how long you need to get a good look around, check what is all there and what is possible.... This will allow us to finalise the package.

Please let us know your interest and availability which will give us an indication how many people will be attending.

This will be updated in post 1.

    Many thanks
    Hugo
