Golf mk2 boot carpet full size wheel.

    Did the mk2 come ever come with a boot carpet for a full size wheel? I have now gone five stud so even the space saver wheel is huge and my boot carpet is wobbely !!!

    My 5 stud space saver is fine in mine, a full alloy makes it sit high :(

    It's just the rigid part of the base sits high on the wheel not by much but it does.

    are you sure its seated properly in the well? also is it the tool kit causing the problem rather than the wheel, they can be a fiddle to fit. a full size spare wouldnt solve your problem unless you switch to full size wheel btw

    To be honest I've just chucked it in will Check. It's now obviously a space saver from a mk3 5x100 golf so is a bit more of a bulge in the middle.

    another option is make up something to fit around the wheel to lift the carpet slightly, thin bit of ply or some extra soundproofing material
