I was wondering if its possible to run an 1.8T AUM running a throttle cable setup (drive by delete) on the standard ECU and loom?.... or would a loom/ECU be required from another engine code?

Any Reason you would want to run a cable instead of DBW? did you know that from about 15 years ago pretty much ALL cars, vans and trucks ALL run DBW throttles
I cant think of a single reason to run a cable these days, i hear people say its a proper connection, it wont break (but it does) . blah blah . but the DBW system rarely goes wrong
    Stick with dbw !!

For, EU3 20vT engines, torque is requested by driver demand.
    Driver demand is mappable.
If you want a throttle cable, then find yourself an AGU package.
