I'm planning a 20v conversion into my 1970 Morris mini clubman and I'm wondering which mk4 gearbox would be best for 13 inch wheels. Cheers B

Interesting swap. If you aren't aggressive, an 020 or O2a will still work.

Would think you would need a tdi ratio,d gearbox, with 13 inch rims and low profile tyres it would be very low geared otherwise.

Have the option to go with 14s or 15s but didn't really want to ruin the look of the mini

With that power vs so little weight, you could run any gearbox you like. If you want a really rapidly accelerating machine, a mk4 gti o2j, if you want merely very quick, a Tdi box would regain some of the road speed lost by small wheels.

An O2s six speed is another option.

It weighs 623kg with the 1.8vvc in atm. And I'm 98kg. So 220bhp will be 370 ish per tonne lol. 02j seem likely possibly will need an lsd. This is just a weekend car not track car. Thanks for all your input. When the project starts il get some pics up :)

I say a mk4 gti 02J so. Plentiful, strong, cheap, Martin aka HotGolf knows them inside out.
