    Hi all

I've been on here a while, but thought it was time to start a build thread for my MK2 (Ellie).

She started out as a 90 spec 8v GTI in black. My plans are as follows -

Rebuild the body, suspension, engine etc from the ground up, she will be running an ABF of weber 45s and megajolt (Few questions I have about this!). KW V2 suspensions and G60 front brakes.

Ive recently got it back from getting sills and arched replaced by a good friend as I just didn't have the time due to work! it is currently just a rolling shell, all glass out etc, and will be going to get the underside blasted to expose anymore holes.

    Some bits I'm after -

    A roof lining
A blanking plug for the dizzy
    An aluminium radiator (suggestions)
someone who can machine a spacer for my trigger wheel out of aluminium (I have sizes)

Hey nice to see a new build thread

You say you want an aluminium trigger wheel machined? What sensor are you using

Is the car being painted original or being changed

I just need a spacer made for the trigger wheel I have (from triggerwheels.com) I just bought the whole megajolt kit from them for easiness,

And the paint is being kept the original colour, or close.

Right. So some advice needed today folks.

I've got KW V2 for the golf, does anyone know exactly what top mounts I require?
I'm also thinking of putting Silver project camber plates on so need to know what to use with them also.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

So last night I got back to working on Ellie after the festivities! hope you all had a good time!

She had been away getting some new sills, arches and some other body bits welded up (a good friend of mine kindly did this when I was offshore)

I also got some more wiring and the brake servo removed, the servo requires some attention as its looking a bit past its best and I cant justify the stellar price of a new one!!

I'm getting the body prepped for the underside and inner floors to be blasted to show up and more secrets, then once that's done itll be off to a paint shop, hopefully I can find a local painter that can justify his prices!

I also booked my tickets for Dubshed 2018! Hopefully get to meet some new folk over there this time again, I went in 2016 and had a blast, some fantastic people there!

So a quick update, today Ellie went to the blasters to have the underside, inner floor, engine bay and drivers rear quarter (I had a mishap with a fence post) blasted. once its back itll be getting painted underneath, inside and engine bay by myself, then the suspension, brakes, and engine will probably be put together, then itll be off to get the body work done (Any recommendations for this in North east Scotland?).

ill get some more photos up tonight when I'm not at work haha

what sort of quality is it? I'm looking for someone good, needs to be able to properly sort out a damaged rear quarter. I hit a fence post in the snow a few years back and did my best to sort it, but it needs properly pulled and beaten.

Not any progress as I'm offshore just now. But next plan of action after its home from the blasters is to build a paint booth in one of the spare sheds at home so I can paint the bay and floor. Need to do a little bit of welding first though id imagine.

You doing a full rebuild yourself?

Nice one well I'll keep an eye out for updates!

Na not a full rebuild just sorting all body rust, replacing all seals and making sure it's 100% leakproof as I've had problems last year! The a paint job to bring it back to life!
