    Hi guys,

Probably not standard part for my DX engine as its in a camper van conversion but this has perished and I think letting in in metered air:

The bottom part around the tube has broken apart. Anyone know where to source or a part number?

Will that fit the metal style handle dipstick I have?

Most of the ones I have seen online for the Mk1 / Mk2 are plastic handle and seem to have a different insert for the guide?

    Thanks

Probably won't no. My Bad. Well after some digging, I found this https://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/inde...ig-block-injection_2/dipstick-issues&start=20 which then got me searching. https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/golf/go/1983-7/1/103-3000/ If you trawl through it you'll find a few numbers Item#44 looks to be the part you're after, although I was convinced it was. The part diagram lists the DX as having Part No. 053 103 663, Item#39.They are both available. https://www.vwheritage.com/036115636-dipstick-guide-tube-10-17-vw-spare . After looking at this, I could still well be wrong. I do apologise. [:-B]

Your engien block is later type which needs the plastic guide tube, the early tube didnt have a plastic end.

issue you have though is which dipstick and/or guide tube you need for a van, since I think the engine sits leaned over a bit more? If so then the oem golf tube/guide/dipstick probably isnt going to work correctly to suit the level the oil will be sat at when engine is installed in a van
