Yes, left hand side and also some of the bottom. The way to do it is to draw an intersecting line using the 4 holes you're going to use. Then from that centre point, draw a circle of 80.5mm* - 90mm diameter**. Take off anything outside it. * - drum brake stub axle backplate diameter ** - disc brake stub axle backplate diameter (either will work, even if using discs, or somewhere in between)

There is only one reason I can see why there are seperate left and right parts. The two lower holes through which you would fit the stub axle bolts appear to have a chamfer/countersink at the bottom of the holes on one side. Again, a quick drill through would fix them. Gurds
You are right they do have a "chamfer/countersink at the bottom of the holes on one side" Just checked with bolt and this does not effect the bolt being put in there so won't need to be drilled out. I'll line then up on both sides of axcel tonight and take some pics and give some updates tomorrow.
I've got some of these waiting to be put on. (Have bothe sides) Ideally, i want to change to the later removeable disks before doing it. Having trouble finding polo stubs though.

I got a wake up call from VW Parts this morning and both sides are now on back order!!! I seem to have seen a post this morning from my iphone which has disappeared..... :-/
Thought i'd let you know how i did mine, I bought some aluminium offcuts off ebay like this you can get various thicknesses, i actually got 20mm i think, they will do some free cuts too. If you find the right size piece and get it cut you can get two pieces supplied in the size you need. Otherwise a normal jigsaw will cut it. Then i got a 11mm drill and drilled the 4 holes in each. Job done! No need for steel in this application, just adds unsprung weight. For the bolts i got some hex head 10.9 bolts again off ebay been on the car for a while now and done quite a few trackdays, no problems Mike
This is how the Berg Cup racers do it. A bit extreme but you get the idea. Looks lovely and was in my 'future plans' file so liking this thread a lot

In fairness, whilst the Roma car isn't a Berg Cup competitor, it's done the same way as some Berg racers. The others are done via wheel offsets. It doesn't matter which way it's done at the back, geometry-wise. I wouldn't regard the Roma car as 'special' in comparison with the Berg Cup field - that's not to criticise the Roma car btw.
what are these spacers made from? does anyone know the measurements and what size holes need drilling where? i want to get a set made
Made in the Nertherlands, one offs. Search on Roma Golf - there's a thread. No technical data other than what can be easily assumed.
