Gutted. Sounds like that was nicked cause someone wanted something specific. Like people have said all that other perfomance stuff and it wasnt taken. I would personally keep my ears to the ground in the trade as it could turn up in someone elses workshop!

thats the most disturbing thing.. I think they must have been watching my movements and times to have snuck in when they did. or they're complete crack head(s) and anything could happen.

    maybe.
but the Cc and REVO stuff is useless to them.. and the custom maps are specific to the ecu's and engine specs they were written for.

laptop, digi camera, cable (cos it was next to laptop) all seem like easily shiftable gear

and then the lappy to get a better idea of the work youre doing. industial espionage

so what you do now is. keep a posh looking cheap camera with some really funky (dangerous) setups on there, maybe a matching laptop too which would no doubt kill a car if the software was applied and leave it about in the workshop in case they come back again.

if they survive the electrified barred windows and flying monkeys the fruity software ought to give them something to think about

    thanks guys

Security is in hand now properly.
its shaken my tree for sure, on what else could have happened had it been a more professional break in. Could have wiped me out worst case.

Security firm I know came round yesterday and we discussed options, , and timescale.. and did a deal there and then. A repeat event wont be likely afterwards with what we have planned

got my vagcom new cable, custom code installed and revo installed on my netbook.
more data to migrate over but getting somewhat functional again thankfully.

Sorry to hear about the break in.
As you say in your above post, it could have been a lot worse if they had been more organised, or malicious and damaged other property in your workshop.
I suppose you could attempt to see it in a some what positive light, in that it has made you get security organised and upgraded to prevent a far worse scenario.

Unfortunately, until the laws change in this country and allow cutting off the thieves hands, there is little deterrent.
You could offer a new service to the courts, where by the dyno rollers were connected to a wood chipper. A new power rating could be obtained by how many thieving scumbags you can shred per hour.
Oh, and start a subsidiary company selling pet food with the waste.

Pet food? Soylent Green FTW ;)

Hope the scum get their comeuppance.
Just remember they are just lowlife, theiving, a55holes; who probably spend half their time looking over their shoulders and the other half pumping chemicals into their veins.

all this heavy rain now looks to be seeping into the dyno pit.. FFS..

got to keep my eye on that now..
dyno sits up 16mm in the hole, so its not in the water yet, an dI wetvaxed it out last night when I noticed.. If its not one thing its another currently.. bloody hell!

would it be impolite to point out that if they did target the laptop specifically then they may actually be lurking on here as you have your own thread and sponsored bit?

whats the chances of an admin checking to see if there has been a large number of recent thread viewings (yours) by a newbie who's not been looking at any other areas.... paging Mr Sherlock Eyre...
