okay one more, after much badgering around, i have modified the plugs from a mk3 gti fusebox to allow it to plug straight in, i am using connectors between the mk3 fusebox and the mk4 loom so it can be removed at anytime.

    connections from fusebox

    G1
    2-outside air temp sensor-brown/white.

3-fuel pump relay earth trigger-yellow /blue----T6 brown connector pin 2-purple/white.

    4-ecu switched live-black---T6-brown connector pin 1 15amp-black or black/purple(and vss pin 1).

    6-fusebox-earth to engine block-t14a pin 9.

    8-live from fuel pump-red/white---T14a pin 6 10amp-yellow/black.

    10-live from ecu relay-black/yellow---T6 brown connector pin 5 10amp-blue/yellow

11-vehicle speed sensor to pin 2-white/blue.

12-tacho to clocks signal-green/black---T10 orange connector pin 2-green/red

    G2

    1-oil temp sensor-green/black.

    2-outside air temp-white/red.

    3-coolant temp gauge-yellow/red---T14a connector pin 4-purple

    9-constant live 20amp to ecu-black(need to fit a pin to g2 plug) ---T6 brown connector pin 4-red/green

    10-high oil pressure from switch-yellow.

    11-low oil pressure from switch-blue/black.

    F

    1-starter motor exciter-red/black.

    3-alternator ignition trigger-blue.

4-vehicle speed sensor pin 3 earth.

    6-reverse switch pin 2-black/red.

    7-reverse switch pin 1-black.

    (single connector)
    W
    1-vehicle speed sensor junction-blue/white---T10 orange pin 6-blue/white.

    (single connector)
    z
    1-injectors switched live-red---T14a pin 5 10amp-red/purple.

    T10W -White connector
pin 4 - white/red to clutch pedal switch (Clutch pedal switch in car)-using vw brake switch
other side of terminal to earth

    Diag port;
    Pin 4; earth.
    Pin 7:T10 Orange pin 1 - grey/white.
pin 16; fused switched live .
    Pin 10; battery live.

hope this is of help to all those doing the mk3 !

    20vt wiring question

May i ask a question in relation to the Clutch Switch

I have the red/white wire wired up from the switch, but i'm not 100% sure where the Blue with a Black strip goes. Is this a neutrel earth, if so can i ground this to the bulk head ?

    Appreciate the help

    Tom :)

    Evening lads

I was hoping to get ye're advice in relation to an issue I;m having with a 20vt conversion.

I have the engine cranking and it's sending spark to all four plugs

and its trying its best to start but i don't think the injectors are sending fuel in.

I hooked up a pump, and i was getting fuel out of the return and pressure at the regulator.

I wired in the diagnostic plug this eveing and received the following list of faults.

I've included everthing i got, just in case there may be any symptoms of anything.

P0238 Turbo boost sensor (A) circuit high

P1237 Cylinder 1 Fuel injector circuit N30 open circuit

P1227 Cylinder 3 Fuel injector circuit N32 low

P1228 Cylinder 4 Fuel injector circuit N33 low

P1226 Cylinder 2 Fuel injector circuit N31 low

P1426 Evap system open circuit (Removed and will put resistor in)

P1548 Solenoid Valve N75 open (not connected yet)

    P1118 heater circuit Bank 1 sensor 2

    P1531 Intake camshaft control circuit

P1432 Secondary Air Injection (Removed and will put resistor in)

P1287 Turbo recirculating valve N249 (removed and will put resistor)

P1501 Fuel pump relay J17 short to ground (I had no fuel pump connected) I just used a gallon of juice and a mk4 intank fuel pump and a seperate battery.

P17931 Crash signal from airbag control unit (Expected)

P1650 Missing message from instrument cluster (Expected)

Was told to monitor pin 83 of the ECU . If the injectors were fueling correctly it should give 12V's and then drop to 1V , but i have a constant 12V

Greatly appreciate your opinion and any assistance

have you cleared the faults then rechecked after trying to start to see what comes back

    hi all,
do you know what is the voltage from the rpm 1.8 20vt oem ecu pin and how many pulse signals for 1 engine full rotation does 1.8 20vt have?
i have a Digifiz and i want to make the rpm working. firs i would try to match directly the rpm ecu pin with rpm digifiz pin to see if it's moving something. thank you in advance

Nice thread guys and thanks... Managed from this thread alone to wire up the complete system including using audi tt clocks. My only problem now is removing the faults from the clocks.? like ABS lights/Water/Oil/ Etc.. I would gather i need to either put some kind of signal for abs and maybe a resister for the oil and water to fool the system... Any advise would be helpful..

    ABS = T32/19 +/- or signal?
Handbrake warning light = T32a/13 = switch earth from handbreak lever.
Washer fluid = T32a/8 to sensor to T32/7 maybe resitor of value of full bottle????
Brake System Warning = K18 ?? Not sure..

Any help would be appriciated as i have the whole dash stripped and ready to wire and test..

Engine coolant level = T32/22 to sensor ?? another resistor ?? for full.
Brake Wear senor = T32/7 to earth.

    Cheers guys..

dont need resistors for the fluid warnings, just bridge the wires together/earth.

any idea of the engine code the clocks came from? id imagine its a speedo signal or a special abs diagnostics feed. but i might be able to say different when i get the wiring diagram in front of me :)

Handbrake warning light = T32a/13 = switch earth from handbrake lever, or earth to disable
Engine coolant level = T32/22 to coolant level sensor, or earth to disable
Brake Wear sensor = T32/7 earth to disable

cant find any reference to these in the diagrams, where did you get this info from?
    Washer fluid = T32a/8
Brake System Warning = K18 ?? Not sure..
    ABS = T32/19 +/- or signal?
