probable world 1st-1.8t ford Pop, rear wheel drive..

tonys project, for those who dont know, part of the badger5 crew

1.8t powered, rear wheel drive, cossy gbox ford pop drag car in the making.
one off transmission assembly... T5 cossy box mounted to 1.8t motor :)

    enjoy [:D]

take one 1.8t motor, custom bellhousing and custom billet adaptor plate
    [IMG]

bolt it all together during mock up
    [IMG]

    swing it into the Pop

    and in old skool imagery

you have the beginnings of a 1.8t powered ford pop, which should be in the 450-500bhp region without the weight of a heavy V8

9" rear axle, spool for a diff.. DTA managed monstor is coming along steadily

How long is the input shaft, has it been extended as its long way from flywheel?

Is that an IHI hybrid, looks good

Clutch should be interesting, but then you have to look at your torque output aswell Bill - but you know that!.

I remember the T5 does not like quick changes, but does like a bit of torque to a degree.

    Good luck with it.

    Regards

Given the front suspension I'd say it stopped being a ford POP a little while ago ;)

It does look fantastic fun though!

a more modern t56 box would probably be a better bet, loads of ratios available

this is a case of a budget build... so whatever came up @ right price is whats getting built into it.
proper shoestring budget and tonys doing all the work himself, with some donations from me like engine, turbo etc

T5 is a stronger choice then the Type9 box he originally had..
