Hi there Iv nearly finished my ab conversion, I used a the engine and loom out of a 94 mk3 but didn't get the diagnostics wiring. Iv just got the port out of a 97 car at scrap yard my question is can I use this on mine or do I need a pre 96 port and wiring. Thanks in advance for any help.
You can use either 2x2 connector or later J1962 EOBD/OBD2 connector. The wires you are interested for the connector are KL30 (+12v live), KL31 (Chassis earth) and ECU pin 43 (K Line). Standardised wiring for the J1962 connector is as follows. Pin 4 = KL31 (-) Pin 16 = KL30 (+) Pin 7 = K line Good luck.
