thanks stu.. what had i done wrong?

stronger front engine mount looks to be required. old vibratechnics ones on there currently from previously

R888's are hatefull things noise wise on the rollers.. sounds like air raid sirens.. horrible noise.

High rolling losses (20% on both actuator only and full boost) from the uber sticky R888's
This is the max number run (just cos it can :) ), in practical terms, and its track use its turned down to 400bhp

Nae bad Bill. Good effort on the MK2 and good power considering losses on the sticky tyres.

Do you have a drawing of the SEM you could send me (providing it is not already sold?)?

The reason I ask is that I think it might hit my rad due to the longer runners of sem. If it fits I would be interested though.

Well she's back from her extended holiday over at Bill's tucked up safely in her new garage.

    [IMG][/IMG]

Its been quite a while but they do say 'good things come to those who wait' - certainly true in this case [:D]

After 16 years of ownership and various states of engine tune, braking and suspension set-up I can only describe it now as being 'right'.

Driving wise it feels totally planted, even through torrential rain on the 70 miles trip home there was no drama just like a mild mannered - very powerful - valver with 8000 revs to play with! and then, if you do want to move on it will - and then some !!

Hats off and big thanks to Bill, Paul and Tony

Great horsepower there bill and nice smooth power curve. Not sure if i am reading torque curve right though, as at say 4000 rpm, when the engine us making around ten pounds of boost, I was expecting it to have made more torque and for the peak torque to have been achieved at slower revs.

its a bigger turbo so low end torque is not going to happen.

I mapped it to bring on a sustained thrust which builds as it revs, proportional to throttle position/rpm

Its still 2wd, so a big dollup of boost/torque will most likely just provoke wheelspin, which was not my aim.
The boost control is progressive (as I can get it)

Thanks for the reply bill. I understand that a bigger turbo will take longer to spin up but my point was that at 4k it is making 10 pounds of boost, if it only ran ten pounds i would have expected more like 220 pounds of torque

Loving this Mk2. Some real hard work has gone into this engine.

As my Mk2 AGU recently blew up, i am now looking to build something different. Been offered an AUM with uprated internals, so now the question is, which turbo to go for ?
