It's the belt that has the grooves, which then make the pulley 'look' like it's grooved.

So you have the right pulley

 

Ah of thanks beetie. There appear to be some genuine groves ones in some pictures via Google but that said they could be pics of anything in reality.

Morning all. Need a little help identifying wires this morning now the engines in.

I have a 2 pin plug with green/yellow and black/white wires
A 2 pin plug with white/yellow brown/blue
A 2 pin plug green/grey and grey/green
Also have a single wire purple/white with no plug.

Thanks rj. As for the outside air temp this seems to be elsewhere as it still has the sensor on, was going to chop off and solder mk2 wiring.
Currently , seem to have no wiring for intake air temp and 2 pin coolant sensor. Any idea on the colour for these

Hi buddy.
Had another look tonight picture below shows current setup.
Back to front shows single wire connector yellow/red then 2 pin connector in flange has no wires, then 2 pin plug on head has brown/green and brown /white.
Any idea what's what and what's missing?


Also have single blue wire near reverse light switch which I assume is alternator and a large 2 pin plug with brown/red and blue/red is this defunct my coolant level?

There are 2 X 2 pin plugs in the loom round the back of the head also. One is black and brown the other is grey/yellow and brown/white.

I bought a 9A engine and want to swap it into my MK1.
Currently it's running a PL engine with the KE Jetronic (CIS-E) instead of the regular KJet.
Can the 9A also run decently/"plug and play" on the KE jetronic system?

Looking to megasquirt in next few months, Can u use the abf dizzy hall sender for megasquirt or do u have to use a kr one? Because of the dizzy window, have had a good search but found nothing definitive. Thanks

 

The ABF Dizzy is a cylinder recognition sensor, where as the KR/9A/6A Dizzy is the engine speed generator.
The latter has 4 windows as opposed to 1.

Big thanks to Toyotec for the amazing guide and both him and Rubjonny for answering all my questions on here. My 8v ce2 car has just had a 205 mile test from home to Santa Pod and back with the new ABF and it was perfect. Well worth the effort, the drive is so different just epic fun! Thanks again

 

Sorry if this has already been awnsered, ive got aMk2 1.6 driver, and have a ABF engine block ready to go in, but i need a new loom for the ABF, wondering how hard its going to be to install the ABF in the Driver, ? look like putting the engine in is easy but the wiring will be a pain?

also do you do these as a side job ? want to do mine for me ? haha
