Be quick...when they're gone they're gone! The main floor bracket is double folded for strength... ...and the front support bracket is braced to prevent spreading... It comes powdercoated & is supplied with the bolts as shown... So...what are you waiting for...another broken downpipe!
Hmm ... think I might have to splurge on one of these. What sort of bush do they use - a Mk1 wishbone bush or similar?
I was looking at it thinking the original floor bracket, cut and welded to the front bush carrier from a Mk1 wishbone, and a custom bracket for the gearbox end, might just about work. Obviously it would take a lot of time, measuring, cutting and welding to make it all happen, and it'll never look as good as the one above, so I'll probably just buy the finished article.
No time to try and build one - too many Alfas to fix, as well as the odd VAG vehicle. Did a deal with a panel beater today, to sort out the dent in the rear quarter of the Mk1 Rocco. Classic Touring Car project is sort of starting - finally!
New batch of rear mounts available now....85 to your door... Front coming very soon...announcement in the appropriate section but approx 10 days.
Well worth it for all you mk1 owners. I have a similar one from back in the day and it has kept my engine steady. Much better than those cheapo poly block types. Gurds
Hi Gurds!....how you keeping? Yes they certainly are...I ripped the bolts out of one of the big red poly blocks once...cant see that happening with one of these.
Cool...just need a gearlinkage bolted to the side of it now! lol Another MK1 lurking in the background....
I'm at that stage with my 02A mk1 installation and like the look of these as an alternative to the solid poly mount that I already have, which gives awful vibration and cabin noise. What's the vibration like on these, compared to a) a standard petrol gti mount and b) the hateful bugpack item Thanks in advance
Well not as easy as a std mount...though only being half attached with a big void in them doesn't make them much of a mount either. Not as harsh as a polly mount...I had a bugpack mount years ago and ripped the bolt out the middle...tho didn't find it too harsh, but that was on a competition car. It's difficult to say as one mans meat etc....but those that have them appear to like them. I drove a road trimmed car recently and cant say I noticed much harshness so don't think its too bad.
Have a poly front and new standard OEM side ones. I've managed to pick up a new diesel rear mount too so will give that a go with a view to upgrading to the JMR one in the future. Thanks for your input
Thank you. I use a JMR style front and rear with standard side mounts on a 9A ... with no vibration issues.
