Having put an few GTD's on order for the company can anyone comment on the following stages that I can see:

Two of the cars are on stage 3 - Build week confirmed - 'Your order has been confirmed for production week commencing 16/11/14' As this is last week, shouldn't the order be on stage 4 'build in progress' or does this mean something else?

My car is currently at stage 2 - With the factory - Expected stock date per the lease company is 26/2/15, however I'm keeping an eye to see if it might land on a '15' plate, but does anyone know at what point I can tell if it'll arrive on a '15' plate or not?

Finally at what point is the car actually registered in the UK (i.e. when it arrived in the UK or when it is being prepared?)

They usually skip stage 4. It will go straight to 5a.

If your car arrives in Feb, you can ask the dealer to hold off until a 15 plate for registration. Not that it matters much on a lease. Which covers off your last question. The dealer will register the car.

Saw your posts over on the R forum.

What colour/doors have you gone for g-man?

Cheers Deako; I knew you'd know the answer.

I've gone for a 3 door with DSG in flat black as I was already over my allowance having gone for DSG lol

The other two Golf GTD's are manuals, one 5 door in the dark blue and a 3 door in carbon grey.

    Can't you sneak a 4th for me? ;) lol

If I could sneak a 4th it would be for the misses I'm afraid due lol

Sadly the other 2 Golf GTD's are going to people who don't really care about car's and only went for them because I choose it (as originally was only given an allowance for something like a Polo 1.2 TDI).

However I would like to bring the GTD to a ClubGTI rolling road day sometime next year when the engine has done a few miles to see if it's bang on the 181hp quoted.

I thought the only option was metallic black? The only free colour is red?

Ours should arrive at similar times. Then I need to save for the BCS exhaust, remap and lowering.

Be careful with the remaps Luke. Been looking into remaps myself and a few owners ( GTI's and R's) have been blowing their turbos after a remap !!

There is a informative thread over on golfmk7.com. Worrying stuff tbh. Many UK owners too. :thumbd:

Non metallic tornado red and flat black are the freebies, plain flat white was a couple of hundred, the other metallics were around 500 from memory with the pearl White being nearly 1k.

But that's on a GTD so not sure if it's different on a GTI for example.

They have revised the turbos several times. If it blows, I'll go hybrid with the turbo engineers for 400bhp. ;)

Definitely no flat black option on the configuration. Might be a special order, like black mirror caps.

Had a look at the other two GTD's we've ordered and they're on stage 4 saying the build is in progress. The blue is midnight blue that was spec'd on one of them.

Not all cars get sold due to boredom. Give it 6-12 months I might not even be able to drive for some time. Enjoy the moment. [:D]

Both manuals GTD's are at the retailers and one of them is being collected next week.

Just waiting for my DSG now as it's build week is next week :)

Can't wait as driving a Saxo 1.1i is doing my nut in lol
