yep thats the 3.2 version and it;ll work fine. any abf ecu will run any abf engine regardless of age of each, only cvaviat is if you try early non-immo ecu on late engine it wont physically plug in as the connector has square blocks in 2 corners which prevent it. but you can carefully trim the blocks off with a sharp knife then it will go in and work

since thats an immo ecu you need a car with immo already installed then pair it with vagcom, or have immo defeated. if its a later SEAT with the 98 on immo 2 type box this is a little harder to pair as you need the SKC code to do it, but you can convert back to immo one reasonably easily or you can take it to VW they'll sort it for you

My seat is made in 98, any idea on how to pair it with vagcom?
Also my car is running rough while cold, consistent g145 cylinder1 not recognised( hall sensor changed, wires are okay), after wet night it is hard to start, sometimes missfires, low on power, looks reasonable to be ecu problem?

if you have vagcom scan immobiliser address 25 it'll tell you the part number. if its a 1h0 then its mk3 golf, 6n0 are the later type. if you have later type then its a VW job, or you get the immo defeated, or change the immo box + chip for mk3 version. does mean re-wiring though so is the fiddliest option and tbh not really worth the hassle. The SKC code can be read from the later boxes by specialists, trouble is finding guys who can do it for reasonable money

is the distributor definitly an ABF vbersion? it should only have 1 trigger window inside. also make sure its fitted the right position as theres 4 sets of bolt holes plus it can be fitted either way up so there are 4 different orientations its possible to fit it in

Just take out the 2 bolts holding your distributor on. Rotate the distributor slightly clockwise, till the other 2 bolt holes line up. See where the front bolt on my and dizzy is threaded compared to yours

You were right!! i changed the angle of the distributor and went out for a drive, car shut down after a mile because no response from accelerator, started it, missfired a bit, came back home, plugged in vagcom, deleted g145 and it is gone!!!! didnt come back!! I went again for a drive after that and car feels better now :))
Also, now in these wet times in autumn my car is hard to start in the morning, it cranks for about a minute before it fires up, i will try to fire it up tommorow morning since I deleted that G145 problem, maybe it had an effect :)

    sounds good :)

next I would check the wiring to the throttle body behind the inlet manifold as it often cracks up causing loss of throttle response, plus look at the vacuum line from back of inlet to the ecu if split can give similar symptoms
