I'm fairly sure that if you are fitting a new module it will need to have coding added. The easiest way to get the coding is off of the original module, however it can be generated from scratch by referring to the options sticker in the boot of the car Clearly you will need access to VAGCOM or VCDS in order to do this. i have a fully working VAG COM with the ebay special blue lead, it will read fault codes up to the mk4 golf platform and also clear codes as well as activate alarm chirp and auto lock/unlock (anti hijack) i also have the software to do auto windows (power up and down of the remote key) on the mk4, this will only work with certain CCM's i believe the immo 3 ones, i'm willing to try if you aren't sure i am near Chorley, Preston, PR5 postcode
I have full genuine Vag-com , Located around , Petersfield / Portsmouth / Southampton / Chichester area .
VCDS with Rosstech lead, can read and delete faults on early cars inc most 20v turbo Based in South London/Sutton/Croydon area, also work in Kent
VAG-COM / VCDS 10.6 Full Version with "special" (don't ask) cable. Based in Brackley, Northants - 20 miles from Oxford/Northampton/Milton Keynes
