Gearbox/starter front mount bolts missing

  1. Finally got my ramp extensions for my ramps and found the cause of my clunks
    Anybody know the part numbers for the missing bolts? 89 small bumper pb 8v

    short one is N 10286205, M10x60 @ 2.37+VAT. long ones are N 0447601, M10x135 @ 4.21+VAT

  4. Thanks Rj and Mal. Heritage have them in stock. Have ordered them next day delivery as my mk2 is now my work vehicle since my caddy maxi 1.6tdi 2011 fried its ecu! 800 quid to fix and 803 for 2 new injectors in the last 6 months More than I paid for the golf!

  6. Wow between dpd and heritage I had ordered 230pm yesterday next day delivery. I had the box and engine jacked into position to rotate the front engine mount by 10am dpd arrived at 10.10am by 1030 all fitted. Then did the driveshaft bolts tighten up. Also tightening gearbox to engine bolts. The front mount bracket only had one bolt at the top. Went for a drive now its all connected and the front end feels like it's had a strut brace fitted with the bracket mounting now connected properly to the front crossmember! Thanks so much guys for your Help!

    the lower front starter motor bolt missing on mine is what probably ended up cracking the case. There was a knock for a long time that i could not track down.. now i know what it probably was
     
  11. Yes there must be some serious rotational stresses on box and starter motor housing with bolts missing. There's a lot going on on the front of the engine with what it's got to do.

    interesting that VW changed the size of the bolt head on this part, it superceeded the original one
