Badger5 is happy to announce the long awaited SEM inlet manifold for 1.8T's are finally complete. Available in smallport or largeport with stock size throttle bodies or larger 75mm or 80mm throttle bodies. Initial Dyno results in comparing smallport 225 inlet manifold against the new SEM at various boost levels. 12-14psi boost std-236whp vs SEM-254whp +22whp gain from SEM 15si boost std-237whp vs SEM-272whp +35whp gain from SEM 19psi boost std-270whp vs SEM-300whp +30whp gain from SEM Price is $850 for manifold + Throttle body from $180 depending on size (prices dependant on exchange rates, subject to carriage, duty & vat) more info on this when I receive it
Righto... sat comfortably? With reference to a ForEx rate off here as a baseline for calculations: http://markets.ft.com/markets/currencies.asp {changable but as of tonight-$1.89570/GBP}** this will vary affecting calculations ** and only valid at the point of transaction. sem $825.00 throttle $150.00 <<limited qty @ this price, else $320 gasket $75.00 carriage $150.00 totals $1,200.00 using ForEx from above sterling ex vat/duty total is xxx.xx 3% Duty 17.5% vat Totals: xxx.xx inc vat price UK delivery 9.50 ForEx on 17.08.08 - 1 = $1.86480 Good ole UK economy
Here are some flow numbers from www.cylinderheadtech.com using a stock 20V Small unported head complete with stock cams flowed at max camshaft lift of 0.380" @ 25in hg with the SEM Small Port - Stock TB Hole (60mm) vs Passenger Side Stock Small Port Intake. Head without Intake flowed 187.65 CFM Head with Passenger side stock intake Manifold flowed 162 CFM without Throttle Body Head with SEM Small Port - Stock TB Hole without Throttle Body flowed 194.4 CFM ~ Translates into +32.4 CFM, equiv. to 20% increase in air flow over the stock intake manifold Total Flow - 776 CFM of flow equiv. to being Naturally Aspirated NOTE: This is not an open flowbench test where a superflow is used as that of the 1.8T Manifold Flowbench Test Results. This is completely different. The intake manifold is mounted to the head then flowed together with the head.
They are some good numbers on the gas flow, as the dyno results show 30'ish Bhp from a manifold!. Thats a 10-12% increase If i had a 1.8T I'd be putting my name down for 1 straight off, Badger5
Post #3, shows the manifold alone, even on std throttle body size on largeport head version, outflows the std manifold. De-restrict further with the 80mm t'bodies and its gains again.
Flowbench tests-UK Independantly tested The opportunity and offer came up for Flowbench testing my new SEM manifold in the UK, so it was sent off to JP from JNL Racing to be bench tested. What follows is his independant test report . Prior to the test, RMR was his favoured manifold. Now there's a SEM on order. Read on.. and enjoy. Hi bill hope you well, Do they make this manifold with throttle body on lhs(cyl1) ? Do you think it would work ok with my audi? Dan K. build Dan has ported the head(agu). P.s. how did you get on with that g.box you had of me, is it ok?
they only make the mani in one handed as per picture I'm afraid. It with larger throttle body is bolt on power more so with the power you already have. There is enough meat in the largeport version to accomodate another 8mm width on ports to port match if desired. box is working great thanks. many thanks for that. got me out of a hole.
