Who is running MS with a Bosch ISV?

I confess i don't fully understand how the inputs in MS relate to the settings for the PWM output.

I have 255 in the frequency box (=39Hz?)

duty is 65 at lower temp and 60 at upper temp, would you mind explaining how these relate to actual duty %? temps are -23 and 100

Yes it is a little noisy, but you don't really notice it with the bonnet shut. Put it this way, no one mentioned it at the cadwell track day, and there was a few CGTI owners there.

I got it working closed loop on my 8v. So you get temp offset hicam when cold and target idle in other conditions i.e. with lights on PAS on full lock etc. It does take a bit of calibration though. Trev's circuit should allow my current hardware to be a bit more robust without the need to throw so much calibration at this system. I need to try it and report how it works on my 8v.

You can. But the MS1/ ISCV circuit with TIP120/122 also works fine one you spend time calibrating it.

    Thread revival alert!!!

did anyone else test or use this little circuit to control the ISCV? Sounds like a good easy option compared to the other options of running without or getting it to work correctly with MS.

I'm definitely going to try this circuit out!

    Bit of a thread revival...

The KR on k-jet runs an ISV controlled by the VDO 244 module under the dash. Presumably this same module can be used to control an ABF ISV independently of the Megasquirt ECU, as it has its own inputs etc.

Feel free to knock this one down ha!

Might be worth a try, but you might find that just an old skool AAV is enough.

^^ Dumb question alert...what's an AAV?

Pete, he is refering to one of these.

    AAV = Auxillary Air Valve.

The use of an ISCV and the controls would negate the need for this mechanical device.

    Thanks for the explanation :)

Gonna try with the ISV and 244 module to start with and see what happens!

Just fitted my ISV and have also noticed there's not much range between Duty numbers. In warmup mode for the moment. I can't seem to find position that fully closes valve though. Mine Seems to be open a small amount between 0% and around 20% then starts opening more.
