So the winter months were a busy time taking lots of bits off the car and getting various bits and pieces. One of the first tasks was to overhaul the front a & rear brakes with new callipers , discs, pads, back plates and cables. Then I had the red leather full treated, smoothed marks removed and the leather treated & resprayed. I got a pair of the new style digi fiz mini gauges (Volts and Boost) these are such a neat quality item that has a bar graph led unit that matches the digi fiz dash perfectly. I sent the fuel filler flap off to a guy who does air brushing on motor bike helmets, with a photo of my car for him to spray that on my flap. Then the engine came apart and the new few months were spent painting, polishing and sending parts off to the guys at Kent Hydro Dipping Here a few before and afters ! Then it was just a mad rush as always on the Saturday to rebuild, test and polish up ready for the GTI Spring festival at Santa Pod where I won my first trophy as a top 20 car Hope you enjoy all the pictures !!
