Currently my heater control panel works the hot/cold temp absolutely fine but refuses to move the directional flap around.

Does anyone know the cable length I need to order for the directional flap?

Also there is a 3rd cable? What's this for?

I have rebuilt this and all is spot on aside from this 1 dodgy cable.

does the flap move by hand? what about if you disconnect the cable and work your levers does cable move then?

on the bottom theres a cog which can fall out between flap lever and operating lever, if its not put back on with cable/flap in the right position it'll go out of sync. check the cable, might just have a kink in it, bit of tweaking to straighten it out

I'll have to whip the box out to check all of this. I did the foam refurb but didn't change the cables [><]
Once it's out I'll check the flap and cog, thanks for the advice

    Heater box out just now.

Firstly - the foam refurb had come away on the directional flap so that Needs some better heat resistant tape to hold up.

Secondly - the cog as RJ mentioned had been put back in the wrong position throwing the whole thing out of sync. All works ok now by hand so just need to connect cables and see if it's good to go.

*Cable was bent out of shape causing a restriction in how far the cable would push the flap - bent back to original shape and now ok

Off to screwfix to get some heat resistant flashing tape or the like [:^:]

Found some silver heat duct tape. Although it's not double sided, it'll wrap around the foam and keep it snug and intact at least.

    Jobs a good-en
