    Hi chaps, just a quickie,

Was wiring in some decent infinity kappas in the back and some macroms in the front of my mk3, just wanted to check, there is a green/blue wire and red/brown wire, the red/brown is positive yes?!

It didnt sound like reverse polarity when i had it wired up this way, was at its most bass-ey... but didnt know whether it was just my ears playing up :)

Anybody got an answer on this?!

As suspected, the fronts are different to the back, so can anyone tell me what is positive in the back- blue/green wire or red/brown wire?..

And what is positive in the front - red/grey wire or blue/grey wire?..

    Thanks

Hi TROUBLESTARTER ,i know this is old but for the front speakers:
    Left front neg. is orange/black
    You also have
    Left rear neg. is orange/black
Trying to get mine sorted ,but I'm in SA. My rear door wires are like u say above,as well as front right. For front left i also have blue/black but orange (brown/tan here)/blue.
For some reason my fronts are not working.
I spliced extra temporary test wires into the wires close to the radio plug and connected to a speaker and it plays. But they used to work, now im a bit lost

    replace 'orange' with 'brown' ;)

for future reference, any speaker wire with brown tracer is the earth. if bypassing the original wiring gets the speaker going then you have a break somewhere along the line, I'd start in the big door plugs at the A pillar might have corrosion in the pin sections or the plugs have come away at the back
