    Hello!

I accidentally found out that the MK4 polo 1.0 version has a supershort gearbox! 4.9 R&P, while other gears are not that long either. So I'm wondering if I can fit it on 2.0 8v engine. It's meant for dirt circuit racing with relatively low speeds - it's rare to get into 4th gear. The mk3/mk2 gearboxes are quite long and you have to do some part hunting to build a short one!

Does anyone have experience with this?

If you look up HotGolf / Gas n Gears / Martin Emment, he's the gearbox guru.

I don't think it fits the bolt pattern but I'm not 100%. What I do know is that they're pretty weak, and fail all the time. Gear and tooth size are small and the twin bearing setup doesn't last that long.
For n/a use on a small engine then great but anything larger I don't think it'll cope.

If it can't hanlde the 1.0 then it won't handle the 2.0 on abusive mode I guess [:D]
