AWD: 00-01 (early) Jetta/Golf [North America], Forged Crank, Small Port, Non-VVT, Internal, K03, DBW

Your also missing enigne codes ADR and AGN (dont know much about them, though I believe the AGN is a naturally asperated 20v).

    audi tt 225 code APX-

what does the u stand for on the valve size for this engine?(APX)does it have small ports or large ports?also are you sure that this engine is non VVT?i thought all 225 bhp engines had VVT.

i also thought that the 225bhp engines had uprated rods and forged pistons-is this not the case?

do the large port engines have large port manifolds to match?(this question has already been asked but not answered-anyone know?)

so does anyone know the ULTIMATE 20v combination for power/torque/reliability? perhaps AGU head with TT/S3 bottom end[:s]

    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!![:D]

Yes, the AGU intake manifold has large ports and is designed for use with transverse applications. In the US the AEB engine code (only US large port engine) has its own longitudinal large port intake manifold.

Just to let everyone know that its back up... changes in my personal life have made it impossible to do Golf stuff recently so apologies for that.

Is there a clubgti chairman etc who I could post the original to as I don't have time to keep up with the new info so it stays up to date for clubgti?

Ok what a mess! I'm having major problems with website hosting but have moved these to somewhere else unrelated so hopefully they'll stay up now!
Spreadsheets are back up with updates.

    U means... unknown :)

    Anymore info would be great.

which of the turbo engines would be best suited to a mk1 conversion. also is there any advantages/ disadvantages of the large port over the small port heads.
when it says forged crank i take it this is stronger than a normal one.
    any help???

Small Port size head Engine Codes: ADR, AMB, AMU, APT, APU, ARG, ATC, ATW, AWM, AWP, BEA
Large Port size Head Engine Codes: Typically 97-99: AEB, AGU, AFY
