Hi Peeps, I am currently converting my mk4 1.8t aum to 2.8 bde engine. I bought used bde with ecu and engine harness. I have rebuilt engine and is fitted. I am mechanically sound,however wiring is my Achilles. I presumed it would be plug and play,lol. I now see the ecu wiring is not the same as aum. Is it a big job to convert original wiring? or should i look for new loom from ignition to ecu. Engine loom came as i mentioned and fit?
You need the BDE's vehicle to ECU harness. The bit that connects to the connectors under the cover. Else you have to add in bits that will not be present on the 4 cylinder car.
