Hi Guy's, I know that this will have been covered somewhere, but I have a project in mind and I want to connect a DQ250 DSG to the end of a 1.8T engine. Could any of you guy's please point me to a thread or tell me what parts I will need to properly connect the transmission to the engine. All the very best, and many thanks, O.T.
I will try to put something here as I do remap most DQ250 and 381 (7sp) and have an interest to adapt to an older car myself. You would need some sort of MK5 EA113 TFSI DSG complete. These should match the torque profile of a 1.8T. Matching Shifter. Possibly a means to have steering paddles. TCU(transmission control unit) connection for power, supply, programming and a CAN link to ECU (engine control unit). TCU needs to exchange: Torque requests to ECU. ECU to broadcast Engine Torque to TCU. Driver pedal ratio. Engine speed. Brake status. Shifter status. The TCU will have to be recalibrated to allow better matching of engine torque to system pressure and clutch clamping current. Optimisation of tiptronic or manual mode is advised. Optimisation of shift points in different drive modes is advised. It is possible to use such a DSG with a ME7.5.5 engine control. But I have not explored that means as yet.
Hi Toyotec, Many, many thanks for coming back to me on this. It's great to hear that you remap these TCU's, I may need to ask of your services on this one, if it interested you. Once again though, many thanks for your help. Looking forward to this one.....
