Hi havant posted on here in years but geting back in to fixing/converting mk2 golf

Ive put a 1y 1.9 Diesel in it but had to remove the pas pully to get it to fit because it jamed aganst the chassis leg I've just changed the cam belt and was puting it back together and was reading about the problem with the crank bolt braking and was wondering if I could remove the big balancer and put my old v belt setup off my old engine or would removing the balancer meen the engine would shake itself to pieces.

    Thanks matthew
