Pity the injectors were'nt checked when you had the top off :)

If they're the unit injector type of course..

    PDs are all unit injectors...

if its black smoking its over fueling, has the cam timing been checked? as if its off its buggers it all up. mine was slightly advanced on my 115, made its stupidly fast!!!!

also have you checked the air filter and all the inlet pipes as a blockage there could be causing air starvation. long shot but you never know.

All pipes checked. Timing checked, fuel timing is all done on vagcom. Filters are all new, cam new, tappets new, N75, MAF, MAP etc etc.
Will find out sometime this week what it is, got a few things on my list to check out :)

when you say fuel timing done on vagcom do you mean youve altered it on there? as it should be correct if the cam timings correct and shoudnt be played with on vag com

Nope not played with it, I was just saying that to alter it it's done on a laptop, and not under the bonnet. Even though the cam/crank is spot on, it'll have to be checked on Vagcom just to make sure. The last owners have had this car in bits so there's nothing to say that it's timed in properly anymore.
Every variable will have to be checked now, as when you start coming across, stripped threads, siliconed sump plugs and missing parts you tend to get the impression Stevie Wonder's been working on it.

i'm having similar prob with my wifes pd150, no boost at all or no boost then all of a sudden comes in with a bang between 2500-3000. feels sluggish and does not feel 150 bhp.

    No updates yet.
I have boost though. about 1 bar at 3500-4000rpm. It's coming in and out perfectly, but there's no power.

I've set the injectors(distance from side of the head, and gap from TDC) and they're all fine. So, fingers crossed it's a blocked exhaust. Just need to find some time to drop the down pipe off and take it for a jolly.

i've read a few other bits on tdiclub that suggest it could be the cat.

mines done 82k, but this is my first diesel so not sure what kind of mileage things start to go tits.

anyway hope you get it sorted mate

try doing this - http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/11094.aspx it will give an indication as to how the engines running.

are you expecting a real shove in the back? as when i drove my mates anni it was just smooth power, no lag as such it just kept getting quicker, where as the lower power ones seem to be more peaky, my 115 is a little laggy till its on boost then it suddenly goes,

The ex misses has an anni 150, and it'll pull well in 4th doing 60. I drove it quite alot so I know what to expect. This was the reason I bought a 150 :(

Mine............will not pull at all, and I mean the speed will only increase if I change down a gear!!
It seems like it just not getting fuel now. Foot flat on the floor quickly in neutral and it'll rev up slowly, really slowly.
Same when your driving, you'll need to get the revs right up to pull off quick, or it'll just bog.
Still no black shi te out of the exhaust either even when you do try and floor it.

I'll try this tomorrow afternoon when I get more time :)

    Bugger all mate.
Cars actually in the body shop having some paint done(stone chips etc), but it'll be booked into VW pretty soon. If they can't find the fault I'll sell it on. Having spent the best part of 1800 on it it's starting to p is s me off a little lol

i did my vnt actuator....remove complete turbo and strip actuator assembly off.
the actuator ring in mine was totally siezed up with carbon.
no way the vacuum would ever open it.
took me 3 hours to get turbo out, and broke oil feed pipe on the way.
    only 25 for new one.
re fitted in 2 hours, difference was massive afterwards.
lasted 2k miles then started going into limp mode 2 times a week.
got rid of car last week....

Stripped mine, to find it was mint inside and fully working. It had already been tried and rebuilt recently so the last owner new there was trouble with it somewhere.
