The information is just confusing - that's all we can say. I will check some articles for more information.

Meanwhile I've just been checking homologation documents to see it they reveal more engines.

Idorap mentioned this one last year here for the Audi 80/A4 BTCC/STW cars:

And now I have found by chance a similar one for VW!

Could those engines be the Mk2 Golf Lehmann Supertourisme (post 47) ?

Also Seat checked too - all Ibiza info known about, but nothing about a Toledo (post 52) in French Supertourisme [:s]

The Toledo GT is this car. Which engine did it have?

All the listings are under each specific country - so Audi & VW under Germany and Seat under Spain. Nothing else homologated from South Africa, South America etc.

Some more reliable figures (in principle), from Racecar Engineering: 260 bhp @ 8,400 rpm. Nothing else quoted. Time is early 1997.

The car is believed to be one of these from above, the ST designation likely translating to Super Touring / Super Tourisme, which means a base assumption that its dry sumped.

Spark plug lead covers are a curiousity I've not seen anywhere else.

The cerbon inlets are similar/same to an Ibiza Evo 1, shown at 1:33s here:

I think these are Lehmann engines due to the link here (p42 of the porn thread for the whole page), but the inlets point towards the kitcar engine builder, Mader.

Really short of info on those cars.

Edit: what info there is on Mk2 Golf & Toledo Supertourisme, now added to post 3

Thanks Hassen - details now updated in post 1

Seeing this AAL, are we missing anymore engines worldwide? Mexico, South America, South Africa, Oz etc? There's a suggestion of a Seat Ibiza 2 litre (short block, not ABF), but could possibly be an 8v.

    Anyone heard of this?

    Hi
I will try to get a pic for you guys. It is a short bubble block too but with basic
    Kjet.
Late '91 this engine was to be developed into a ltd edition "Spitze" golf here in S.A
This was when the Opel Kadet GSI 16v S(Vauxhaul VXR???) Was cleaning up our local
Group N series. GSI 16v S was 125KW with Schrick cams and Coscast(cosworth/yamaha) cylinder heads.
The Spitze would have been VW's answer but alas the mk3 launch was too close and the idea
    Was shelved....
The Spitze would have had Schrick 260 cams, headwork and blueprinted bottom ends with 15"
BBS wheels. A rumoured 145kw motor never came into production for homologation purposes.
At the time rumoured reports that there was too big power variances on the first batch of engines also
Helped to put and end to the production. Subassemblies might/would have been built up in Germany
    and engines assembled in S.A.

I was a young lad working at my 1st VW dealer @ the time. Other spec that would have come
Fitted to the car was 280mm G60 discs and a different Kjet fuel distributor. Rumour has it that
Many of theses parts were sold by VW Motorsport over the next few years.

I have managed to get 5sets of the cams(have 3 left)1 set of the discs,1 fuel distributor and
2tailgate decals. That makes part of my few collectibles along with an Oettinger 16V head.
Will try to post pics asap!
Oh btw that's why my forum name is "Spitze" loosely translates from German as "Pinnacle"!

Does anyone have any more info on the Oettinger tuning conversions? We seem to be missing a trick from one of the big tuners there.
