Excellent. Looks like loads of work going into it. However, wont that filler on the bulkhead crack? Its a fairly structural part on a Mk1 isnt it, especially with no subframe to speak of.

There's not that much filler actually there anymore (only a thin layer, which is pretty flexible). I slopped a tonne of it on in a hurry but now it's barely thick at all. The only deep points are filling the factory ridges. If it still cracks, I'll know not to do it again!!

It's actually a funky little black and decker thing with a square orbital pad. It fits under the scuttle perfectly and gets a very flat and smooth finish. Just a quick hand sand with 400 grit and the panel's ready to prime :) I'll take a photo of it and post it up tonight...

I always think an orbital disc sander that runs on air is the best thing to use, more controllable and you can use the air to blow the dust out the way, oh yeah, handy tip when filling, don't be tempted to use to much hardener in your filler, it'll gets to hot and you'll get solvent boil and little pinholes will appear when you rub it down.

If you wanna speed up your filler drying time, get a infra red lamp.

Not that you'll need to in australia!!

I've got a colour called Light Blue Metallic from the Nissan catalogue, but I'm not sure whether I like it now [:s]

Looking good, its great fun stripping a MK1 back to a bare shell [:D]

When finished fly it over for some of our shows ;)

I would put your ABF in the MK1 and a 20vT in the Ibiza.

At your expense? I'd love to come to some shows, though. I'm doing the Europe thing in November so I miss all the shows [:^(]

Good point about the engine swaps - that's probably what I'll end up doing :p
