    No, they're for Recaro seats.
You're only real option is to replace the whole base foam as it's in one piece. The simplest way of doing this is to find a decent passenger seat base (as they tend to have less wear) and swap the base foam and covering material over. The material is held to the foam by clips and it's a horrible job to remove them, so don't bother and swap the whole thing over. The foam (and attached material) comes away from the seat base very easily, so that part is a simple swap over.

    Thanks bootste,

oh thats a bummer! the cloth is in great shape too.. I think the foam is just disintegrating with old age and obviously a bit of help with me getting in and out. Ill get on the hunt for a mint seat base for the passenger side. hmm i suppose i wont hold my breath.

    Thanks again

    Pete

I wish I'd known that, you could have done mine and saved me lots of swearing ;). Those hog rings are a right b**tard to un-hook and they're buried deep inside the foam. Unless the post-90s are worse than the pre-90s maybe>
But you're right, it's certainly not impossible just [for me perhaps] very fiddly. If you've got the time and the inclination, go for it.

you can bend the rings open with pliers/screwdriver if you're patient, then re-use

all the mk2 foams are the same 84-89, as are all post-84 cabrio. after 89 the mk2 seats changed shape, easy to tell though look at the plastic triangle pieces either side of the backrest where they tilt, much longer on the 90spec plus the lower bolsters are more rounded and peak further forward, and are flatter towards the back. hard to describe but easy when you compare. the difference is enough if you sit sideways on a pre-90 you get a bit of bolster digging into your right leg, 90spec its quite comfortable
