Hi everyone, reading the forum i didn't see anything specific so i'm here to ask. Did anyone say how to increase the horsepower and the torque of the ABF 2.0 16v engine mounted on 1993 MK3 Golf GTI,without big modifications. I want this because i live in a mountainous area with many climbs and descents and unfortunately the fact that it is naturally aspirated brings me a little more fuel consumption but,i don't want to change this little monster that give me lots of satisfaction Thanks a lot everyone give me advice
Thanks for the reply, now i have a doubt,on a Naturally Aspirated normally remapping not cause the cars goes worst at low Rpm and better at High Rpm? or maybe you intend to go to a remapper that makes customized maps?
Sorry maybe i badly explained my self. what I want to say is,if you suggest me to go by someone who made custom maps or, to go by a remapper that load pre builted maps. and another question is if remapping a Naturally Aspirated doesn't causes bad performances at low rpm like when removing the catalyst. Sorry i'm not very pratical and I hope I explained myself well this time
I would suggest going to someone who knows what they are doing and knows the ABF. Removing the cat on a stock MK3 is unlikely to affect tuned performance. Typically this is the delta at WOT you get with an ABF with a stock ECU with a mild custom chip tune. With more time, you can dial in maximum torque to cover a wider RPM range, which will increase power. The above takes time, and with most tuning folk focused on new stuff, you will struggle to find folk who know how to do this and match your expectations. Both cars were done by me back in the day and if you look at the links on my signature, you will find quite a few posts sharing ABF information. Hope that helps.
Okay perfect now ì've understand. I'm from italy and here in my country i know a guy that turboed a stock 2.0 16V ABF engine with a result of 345 HP so maybe i can ask something to him Anyway thanks a lot for the advice
