    All,
Ive just bought a 11/99 bora with a 2.0 8v cross-flow engine, dont know the engine code yet, maybe someone can help me there? Its done about 50K and Ive just bought it with no warranty at all!

What do I need to check/look out for?
How do I check the cam belt tension? I will get a Haynes manual when Im next in the UK, but want a to do a bit of a check before driving it home.
    Thanks in advance
    Mark.

Mark as this engine is very rare in the UK not many people know about it. Your best bet is to ask on vwvortex as they have loads in the USA

it can't be that rare, it's the new beetle engine right? and the 2.0 passat and golf, or do they have a 5 valve 2.0 lump?
