No as I broke down in my street. How does bumping it sort the air lock? And would that stop fuel coming from the pump even when I disconnected the lines to the filter?
Turns the engine over faster and longer so it can suck the fuel through A lot of diesel's don't have a lift pump
Also if I do bump it, do I do anything different that I would with a normal bump start? I'm going to have to bump it while being towed.
The general consensus appears to be either bump it whilst being towed, or down a very long hill.. lol
All sorted guys!! You were right must of been an air lock. Towed it and bumped it... Thanks for all your help and advice guys.. Really helped.
My brothers Golf TDI broke down today also with a BKD engine and i suspect it to be the in take fuel pump as it's silent. You cannot hear it prime or run at all and it wont start. Grabbing a new pump from ECP tomorrow (as it's a Sunday) so hopefully that will fix it. Changed the fuel filter today as it was an easy job but hope i don't have to tow the bloody thing to start it! lol
