89 16v RE 2000 gti engineering

    Yes screens a mot fail so out it'll come lol got all the panels I need off one of my donors :thumbup:

    looks liek it may have had scuttle done before and not well from the extent of the rot and the bad spray job :(

    Exactly crap work done 8-9 years ago and it's then been in a garage for the last 7 :( slowly rotting [8(]
    But we've started to look at it so hopefully it's not to rotten:thumbup: underneath looks ok but ther is surface rust and under seal loose so need to do some stripping and treating [:s] brilliant job "not"

    Scuttle looks shot so will take a look at donor car today or tomorrow to see what can be done

    So on Monday after workI cut the roten scuttle out
    Monday at work I cut the good scuttle out of my c reg donor
    Today welded up right hand wiper hole and repaired a couple of rusty bits on it . Need to get some weld through primer ready for welding it on
    Probably should take the dash out

    There is no advance and retard on that dizzy ...clean it up and paint it Red

    The thing to check would be to measure the width of the trigger windows to a standard one :thumbup:

    Trigger windows appear to be the same 16 mm
    Just more gubbins in the bottom of the gti engineering one

    also can you check the windows are in the exact same positions relative to the shaft as the std 16v and not moved about slightly

    Well I've got 4 dizzies on my desk lol
    In original pics post 133 first 2 pics are re2000 one and 3&4 are a standard part numbers are different is this just re2000 one old design ?
    Draw a pic of what you want me to do and I'll try :thumbup:
