There is a choice of thin wall race one like I ran and thicker wall (heavy) like I am not now.

thin wall manifold was 1200 - made by Forumla 1 fabricator (makes RBR exhaust headers and exotic beasts)
the heavier wall one is 950

ceramic coating was 460 on the setup in the pictures.. mani + 2 piece downpipe

converting to esternal gated I have seen both welded up puks as well as solid rod instead of actuators. Owens might make a non-internal gated hotside?

Its spooling 1.5bar boost at 3800rpm on the logs, so not a lag monstor.
dialing in fueling.. found it had a suspect maf already which sent me in the wrong direction for a wee while.. Jeez I hate maf's, they're so flaky

Looks very well built Bill, top job!

I had a pleasure of replacing my MAF today, horrible devices

As soon as i find reliable way of controling haldex im going stand alone

Any idea on torque and power figures? Test drove it yet?

dunno about power yet.. been driving it today and yesterday.. swapped maf's again, the only one i had here was for the 225 motors. Now got its proper maf element installed.

its pickup is nice, so I am pleased its not a lag monstor, and when its >3krpm it picks up its nose and shoots fwd.

more tweaks to fueling to come. its no where near running right under boost.

done 2-3 spanner checks on it now its had some heat cycles into it. its settling down nicely I think. Had a really annoying rattle/buzz at 3krpm, which turned out to be a threaded insert in a bracket which used to hold the oe sidemount intercooler.. lol poxy thing. now quiet as a mouse. (well not really but not buzzing now)

I replaced a pos gt3071 turbo with this on my previous octavia.. went from a lag monstor to a nice drivable car. same turbo on this a3. spool is acceptable on the 1781cc

sounds like what im after tbh. from what i have read, diff people report different specs but most say it comes on boost mid 3ks which is sounding great.

    injectors are 630cc's @ 3bar

    nothing on power as yet
got to change the actuator spring to help achieve more boost.
9psi actuator is what its physically doing now, but on the bench it tested at 13psi, should be 15psi, so its sagged already whilst bedding in.

boost delivery has logged 1.5bar at 3800rpm so far.

363bhp and ??? torque from 1.8bar boost on a dyno dynamics RR
personally i would go gt30r - spool is not much different at all, but not flat out like the 2871r was... drivable both of them
