I decided to have a bash at fixing my micro switch myself as like rocking horse poo to find, so tried to think the best way of removing the old 1 so basically took a heat gun to the black resin looking stuff protecting the connections and bit by bit heated it up them dug some out with a terminal screwdriver and a stanley knife for tidying the edges. I did get abit carried away and snapped the 1 side piece off but not majorly important just looks abit poop. So found the nearest looking switch I could with the same dimensions of the original After cleaning the old switch up I fitted it back to the throttle body and positioned the switch in the correct place and then used a pin vice and a 2mm drill bit to drill 2 holes. Once the holes were drilled I used some small pieces of wire and glued them in place to make little support pillars for the new switch. Once glued I was able to check functionality and then glued the switch in place. Then re-soldered the new switch to the old contacts in the plug. And then checked the new switch was working as it should be. So only thing left is finding something to re-seal the connections, not sure what the original black stuff was if anyone could shed some light?!?! This is the item number for the switch I bought from Ebay: tel:5054605321089
The black stuff would have been potting compound http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Robnor-Po...556022?hash=item1c534bb9f6:g:QngAAOSwRLZUGC2r Araldite would work too
After verifying the microswitch on my ABF converted mk2 scirocco was showing open loop when throttle was closed i stumbled across this thread, thought it would be useful to confirm the microswitch part no as the ebay item no provided by @BISSONE is no longer valid.
