Sort that manifold out Alex as it's probably no better than the standard itemas it is.
I recommend a Supersprint race system. We cut off the 2" flexible compensator joint from the manifold and welded on a 2 1/2" jetex one and then used a short length of pipe to connect it all up. My car is totally different now and the torque feels amazing. I will have the figures on thursday.
Trouble is to weld the manifold you will have to get it off the car. Mine came out ok but when i went to put it back again i couldn't get it in because of the larger connection on it [:x] I had to drop the front subframe to make room. It's worth the trouble though.

Gary, It's a supersprint 2 1/2"system and Magnex manifold. The jetex bits are just to adapt the bit's together if you know what i mean [:s] :)

That's a really good figure!!! What's the spec? Judging by what we've figured out as my drivetrain loss (with majorly dragging brakes [8(] ), that'd be 183BHP (of course disputed by the yanks)!!

Cheers for the info Matt, how far back from the flexible joint did you cut?
I want to get rid of that flexible joint anyway as they're nothing but hassle, every 6 months I have to remove the inner o-ring seal and replace it cos it just wears away and starts blowing. [:x]

No we replaced the flexible joint with a larger one so i still have one.
I never had any trouble with mine. What's your engine mounts like?

They're fine, I think it's a common Magnex fault, had the same on my previous manifold & system, plus I've heard of others having a similar problem.

Interesting about the flow restriction, I'll have to take a look at that, looks like there might be a few more horses in there struggling to get out. ;)

I guarantee it. Just undo the manifold coulpling and stick your fingers in it and you will see.
I will post up before and after power figures thursday night.

He just needs the 'thing' on/in/around/touching/talking/willing it to get the 200bhp mark.

So Matt, just get a 'thing'

How does 197.3bhp sound  Do i need a thing aswell?
The major difference is the torque. It's now doing well over 130 1bft at 3000 revs but was only about 117 1bft before. Also it's very strong between 5-6000 revs now but dipped badly before.
Had fun with a mini cooper S and an integra type-r the other day and got pulled for speeding yesterday so i'm quite happy with it. [:$]

Nice one Matt - how does it compare on road to before?

What was the final torque figure?
