I'm embarressed to say that I've made one big f*^k up.while doing my mains my Mind was somewhere else. and I've torqued the mains wrongly to the big ends spec of 30nm + 90 degrees.i know the 65nm has been exceeded (by how much I don't know)the bolts are sure To be over stressed and f#ck-d up.what about the shells ??? It is what it is... if I've got to by all new again then so be it. a mistake never to be repeated. Just to add crank still turned easily.
Ok thanks,I'm not one for blaming others but in my defence I had a mate with me reading out of the Haynes. He relayed to me 30 1st stage.so I did it and didn't question him.then after all ten were a 30nm. He spouts out 90 degrees on em and that's your lot.why I never twigged I will never know as I knew the final Torque was 65nm.i thought he knew what he was looking at.never mind it's done. I reckon the final torque was nearer 85nm.although crank is smooth as silk even though it's wrong. They are brand new shells and don't look any different it for tbh. But new bolts now are a must.where can I get a new set can't see any.thanks.
Thanks rj.i did try heritage today first they havnt any but did give me a very part number N10263801 for Main dealer so was worth the call.thanks
